If mountain biking is not your thing, then a cruiser or comfort bike is for you. These bikes are built for riding on roads, paved pathways, and light trails . The comfort bike category is very popular with adults wanting more comfort and upright seating. It is ideal for an "after dinner" rider and those who simply want a bike to enjoy getting out and putting on some miles but not necessarily as an every day competitive sport. Most have wide 26" wheels, shock absorbing seat post and front fork, and an adjustable stem for handlebar placement to accommodate different style riders. Tires on comfort bikes feature connected tread down the center of the tire increasing efficiency on pavement, but they also have a slightly more aggressive tread on the sides for light trails.
