Cruiser bicycles, also known as "Beach Cruisers," were the most popular bicycle in the United States from the early 1930s through the 1950s. In the 1990s they saw a resurgence in popularity. They combine balloon-tires, an upright seating posture, simple gearing, straightforward steel construction and expressive styling. They are regarded as being a fun, simple and stylish way to get around the neighborhood.
