Hybrid
Hybrids are great for people who want the ability to take long rides but don't want to invest in a more expensive and aggressively designed "road bike." Hybrids consist of a road or touring type of frame and wheel, but tend to offer lower gearing and a straight handlebar for a position lower than the comfort bike but not quite as low as a typical road bike. The tires are narrow which creates an efficient pedal stroke on pavement. These bikes are a great choice for the rider who wants to maintain a more upright position, yet still wishes for the lightness and aerodynamics offered by the classic road bike.
