BMX Team History:
In 2001, Dick Sonne's assembled a team consisting of New York State's fastest BMX racers and within a few short years became one of the strongest BMX teams in the country. Dick Sonne's Racing's BMX division was composed of talented racers from across the U.S.A with 4 goals in mind at all times:
- Exhibit the highest caliber of sportsmanship
- Be exemplar positive role models
- Promote the sport of Cycling
- Win races (which they did quite well, for being their 4th goal!)
Some of their achievements included:
- 2003, 2006 & 2007 New York State Championship Team
- 2007 Northeast Regional Championship Team
- 2007 National NBL #7 ranked BMX Team
Dick Sonne's Hotties:
Between 2002-2005, Dick Sonne's forged a rarity among the BMX community: the National Bicycle League's only all women's BMX team, who self dubbed themselves "Dick Sonne's Hotties." The "Hotties" went on to become a dominant presence in the New York BMX scene.
Road:
Dick Sonne's has put together a talented team of roadies to represent us at road cycling events throughout the Northeast region. Qualifications to be a member for our road team include a passion for cycling, stellar sportsmanship and, like everyone who competes in this sport should have, the knowledge of how to have fun with your friends on two wheels!
- Dick Sonne's proudly sponsors the all women's Mission in Motion road racing team & the Hamilton College cycling team.
- Dick Sonne's is proud to have sponsored numerous state and regional championship cycling athletes across all disciplines over the past 40+ years
